Mechanical design together with the development of supporting documentation and strength analyses of two tram bodies.

Project description

Mechanical design together with the development of supporting documentation and strength analyses of two tram bodies.

Solution

In 2014, on behalf of PESA Bydgoszcz SA, a comprehensive 2D and 3D mechanical design was carried out and documentation was developed with detailed strength analyses undertaken for: statics (EN12663), weld fatigue (DVS 1612) and crashworthiness (EN 15227) of the Jazz Duo tram. The collaboration continued in 2015. The project realised at that time included the preparation of detailed 2D mechanical documentation and a comprehensive strength analysis in terms of statics (EN 12663) and weld fatigue (DVS 1612) of the Krakowiak model.

The result

The modern, functional and durable trams created according to the project are widely acclaimed and successfully operated. Jazz Duo is the most popular tram series in our country. It is used in Warsaw and Gdansk, Krakowiak, and is the largest tram running in Krakow. Despite its large capacity, it is capable of running along the familiar narrow-gauge route through the Old Town.
